Dr. Wina Smeenk worked as a design professional at various international companies for over ten years. In addition, she imagined and developed design education programs at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, Arnhem and Nijmegen, THNK, the Amsterdam School of Creative Leadership and at the department of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology. Since 2010, Wina has been heading her own co-design studio: WiEN’S ontwerperschap. She aims to connect people and create social innovations together with all stakeholders. Her empathic co-design approach supports public and private sectors to build common vision connecting bottom up needs of users and top down goals. This leads to innovative, sustainable and meaningful strategies resulting in impetus opportunities for design and transformation. Her academic and business-driven experience in initiating and managing design projects and people enables Wina to bridge both practice and academic as social and technical worlds. Since May 2016, Wina was a PhD candidate at the Industrial Design Research Group at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she finalized her thesis at the end of 2019.
Janienke Sturm

Dr. Janienke Sturm is an applied professor of People and Technology at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, department of HRM and Psychology. She initiates and supervises practice-oriented research at the intersection of psychology and technology. Here, human-centered design, behavior change and embracing technology are important themes. In her research projects, Janienke connects the technical and people-oriented disciplines within Fontys and collaborates with countless organizations in health care, education and manufacturing industries. Since 2018, Janienke is coordinator for the Health theme within the Fontys focus area TEC for Society.
Berry Eggen

Prof. Dr. Berry Eggen is a full professor and director of research of the Industrial Design Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), where he chairs the Future Everyday research group. He is also an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Australia. Over the years he has led design research groups in the areas of information ergonomics, multimodal interaction (including lighting and sound) and intelligent interfaces. His current research activities include interaction design research for playful interactions and the exploration of decentralized systems approaches to ambient intelligence. Within the field of multimodal research his interests include lighting and sound innovations in the living room and public spaces, and the exploration of light and sound as calm environmental information displays.
