Steven Kyffin studied Industrial design at the Royal College of Art in the early 1980s. After 15 years in the design consulting business, he directed the Industrial Design School at the Royal College of Art from 1995-98, which was when he joined Philips Design. He is now responsible for managing Philips Design’s Research & Innovation program and, in particular, for its contribution to the development of new business growth for Philips through the Innovation Engine.

Paul Gardien
Philips Design

Paul Gardien studied Industrial Design Engineering at the University of Delft in the Netherlands. He has worked with Philips Design in a number of different areas including product design, user interface design, multi-media and internet design both in the professional and in the consumer domain. At present, he is Vice President of Philips Design and a member of the Executive Management Team. He is responsible for strategy development and Research Development & Innovation (RD&I), which includes the Design Research program, new business development and developing the current service portfolio.
